Hallstatt

Adventures & Travels

Canon 6D + 50mm f/1.4 / 70-200mm f/2.8

Hallstatt was really like a dream come true! I've seen that view on pictures so meny times and been dreaming of going there ever since the first time I saw it. Now I've been there and it was really an amazing place. The only thing that destroyed this town a bit was all the chinese tourists and they where all over the place. They ran around with theire cameras and selfiesticks and that kind of destroyed my picture of Hallstatt a bit. It was really hard to concentrate on the surroundings when there was a chinese tourist or a sign in mandarin where ever you turnd your head... Okey, it was maybe not that bad, but bad enough that it destroyed the experience. The restaurants was overpriced of cause and there were a lot of tourist shops. That's not what I want to see when I go to a place looking like that and it's sad that the town changed so much because of the tourism. But over all It was just as beautiful as it looks like in all the pictures and it's absolutelly worth a visit. I think I would recommend to go there eighter in the very early morning (if you are there to take pictures) or in the later afternoon. I was there in the middle of the day and you as a photographer know that it's very hard light then. That made it to a bit of a  challange for me, but I think it turned out okey in the end. Hit me with questions about traveling to Hallstatt, if you have them!
